Going to be on Bon last week of March thru first week of April. Wondering about a day or two to Curacao. Does anyone have info on cost of ferry or water taxi and are there packages (including lodging) that one can set up from Bonaire.

Oh yeah.....thanks Jake for helping me to get my registration to work.

Joe:

Check out http://www.chogogo.an/Frameset.htm for the "fast ferry" or http://www.insulinde.com/ for the slower sailing trip.

Enjoy Curacao!

The wind's been rather strong the last couple of weeks, and February's wave action is always very strong. Not sure if the Chogogo has been able to go every day... If you want a sure thing, take a plane - the Divi Divi Express (http://www.baibini.com)

Jake:

Does Bai Bini/Divi Divi have regularly scheduled service now between Bonaire and Curacao? I thought it was charter only. In any case, Joe, the other flight alternative is DCA, at: https://www.flydca.net/

DCA is fine as long as you have a very flexible schedule and don't mind the occasional flight delay (ranging from 0 to 10 hours just on the island hop).

Divi Divi flies regularly (8 times daily, I think?) between Curacao and Bonaire, and they have scheduled times for their charter service (they call it a "charter" because it bypasses a whole bunch of restrictive licensing issues that real commercial scheduled air lines need to deal with - these issues are so bad that Royal Air Aruba, after a year or more of waiting, still hasn't received its permits to fly scheduled flights between Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire.)

Thanks for the update on Bai Bini/Divi Divi. BTW, they may want to consider updating their web-site: it says they still have only one unscheduled BON-CUR flight a day that appears to fly in response to customer requests.

Anyway, I know DCA/ALM isn't always the most reliable, and is often frustrating on some level or another, but personally, the only scheduling problem I've had with them when flying within the ABC islands is when a flight left ten minutes early. Flying out of MIA is another story, as we have had everything from the ten hour delay, to the unscheduled stops in Haiti, to lost luggage, etc.
