Hi there!! We're booked to travel to Bonaire Mar 15 - 22. Skyservice to Curacao, then DCA to Bonaire. We arrive in Curacao at 12:00 noon, then leave via DCA at 4:00 pm. Am wondering if anyone is booked on this flight, any hints and/or suggestions re: wait time, ie DCA on time or can we expect delays?? DCA is a new experience for us, and based on the difficulty our agent had with putting this trip together, am wondering if we should be forewarned ...suggestions / advice welcomed!!

Greetings, Cheryl!! :-)

We - 8 of us - will be sharing the plane with you!!

Have NO idea what to expect tho, it's the first time for me with DCA as well... but I'll check with the others of the group.

This is the first time we have had the chance to get off a plane in Curacao - the other 2 trips were on the now defunct Can 3000, and they always did the Toronto - Bonaire - Curacao with return Bonaire - Curacao - Toronto.

Finally get to check out the legendary cheese shop at Curacao's airport!!

:-) Bill :-)

We'll look forward to seeing you Bill! Are you booked on 4:00 pm DCA flight as well??
Yes, I remember Canada 3000 (and miss it +++!). We spent time on Curacao, actually it was the first ABC island we ever visited and where we were first introduced to shore snorkeling... have been hooked ever since. Even tried Aruba but shore snorkeling was rather grim!! It's great to see flights to Bonaire isn't it? Over the years it seemed as though, there were flight packages every other year!!

So Skyservice is a charter out of TOR? And it goes to CUR? Neat! Why not take Divi if in doubt from CUR to BON? Seems like Superturtle has too many but in the future those little planes take 7-9 I think? I think they are so reliable.

What other charters go from say the US to CUR I wonder?

Annie

Hi Ann, my understanding is that Skyservice (Sunquest Vacations) has a contract with DCA to fly us from Curacao to Bonaire. Is Divi an inter island airline? In the past we've always been able to stay on the same aircraft but for some reason, Skyservice does not fly into Bonaire.I went to DCA's website and noticed there were many flights to Bonaire, if it's a small aircraft then that explains the 4 hour wait in Curacao. I'm not complaining because I'd rather wait in 30C :-) instead of -30C :-( temperatures!

I guess we timed it wrong. Our vacation is planned for Mar. 25 to April 10 and there was nothing flying to Curaco / Bonaire from Toronto! Fortunately my sister lives near Miami so we are driving down there, meeting the rest of our group and flying out of Miami direct to Bonaire. (The airfare to Miami is ridiculous!)

I'm sorry to hear that. When our agent first attempted to book, she kept getting a message that there were no flights, but she persisted and found out that the Curacao to Bonaire flight needed to be organized on an individual basis before we could get the Toronto to Curacao confirmation. In the past the airline would continue on to Bonaire from Curacao but this year it is handled via DCA. It's too bad you have to drive all the way to Miami, but I do agree the cost is prohibitive. We looked into that arrangement in the past and could not justify tripling the costs..... and that was without considering the exchange rate on the USD, or food & accommodations.
