We just returned from a trip to Bonaire and are desperately trying to get back there for President's week. We have a flight to Aruba. The shuttle from air Aruba to Bonaire seems ridiculous since it takes 3 hours (stop) in Curacao) for a 1/2 hour flight. Does anyone know of a different way? Possibly by boat? Any ideas (other than swimming) are welcome? Please email me at shoiley.nj@verion.net

Shirley,

We did the Aruba run from the states last summer with the transfer to Bon. After much much work
we ended up doing just that, DCA via Cur.
Please go back and read the summer threads on this
issue - DCA/ AVIA/ DiVI airlines.

There is a ferry (Fast Ferry) from Cur, but
you still have to fly to Cur to get it. And porbably not worth switching at that point.

Sorry, and maybe there is anothe way now. We will be there in Feb. But we are going via AJ and Mont Bay. Lydia

There's a slim but growing chance that BonairExel, a new Bonaire-based airline, may be in operation by the beginning of February, and it's plans include several daily round trips between Aruba and Bonaire.

I did the Aruba to Bonaire trip at the end of September...took Avia air from Aruba to Bonaire ~40 min direct flight....had to take DCA thru Cur coming back...didn't mind the extra time coming back... long layover in Aruba (4 hr +) after arriving via USAir at 2:30 pm....compared to other connections, I'd probably do it again

lets keep our fingers crossed for BonairExel as Jake mentioned

Avia=direct bon-aruba
Ferrie=bon-cur and then avia or dca to aruba
coming real soon: bonaireExel bon-aruba
divi divi=bon-cur then avia or dca to aruba

these are the options for now. there might come a ferrie between the 3 island, but it's not 4sure and for when.

Happy New Year and thanks for visiting our Lovely Bonaire!
