I have attempted unsuccessfully to find contact information for DCA and Royal Arubian. I would appreciate any assistance that anyone can provide in this regard or w/respect to other likely air carriers between Aruba and Bonaire in Dec. and Jan.

I don't think RAA ever got into business....I wonder which investors lost the most money....

Dan, In September, I used Avia Air from Aruba to Bonaire and then returned on DCA. Avia is direct non stop. DCA stops both directions in Curacao (yuck!). Avia is a small commuter plane if that makes difference.

Jake and Gregg,

I don't think Royal Aruban is out of business; more like still trying to get started.

My wife and I had booked with them in July for our just completed trip to Bonaire (Oct 17 - 24), and with them still not flying when we traveled, they rebooked me on Avia (AUA-BON) and DCE/Avia (BON-CUR-AUA). Details of those flights are in my response to Annie's question about getting to BON via AUA.)

Following my return I e-mailed the three RAA people with whom I had been working to thank them, and received a response within a short time. I even questioned whether one of the aircraft I saw at AUA (a cream-colored Embraer Brasilia) was theirs and was advised that it was. I was also advised that they were continuing with the necessary preparations to initiate their operations soon.

So it appears RAA is not out of business and with some luck, perhaps they will get to fly soon and offer yet another alternative way to get to BON.

Mark,

Thanks for the info... I hope they are successful...their doors were shut, shades pulled and lites out when I passed thru Aruba/Bonaire in late September...there are several hot issues for new flights to Bonaire...Delta to Curacao, RAA and the new KLM connection...the more that come to fruition will make it easier for all of us. I'll bet on the KLM connection to be successful. Delta to Curacao will be interesting. At least that connection would avoid MIA. There are multiple ways to get from Cur to Bon

Mark,

I hope I'm wrong and you're right - that would be great. I was going by what had been written in the papers here locally (which is a mixture of truth, rumor, and innuendo at various times :-) ).

Jake
