Currently sitting in Gate F9 waiting for Insel's Direct flight to Bonaire. I flew to Miami on American via Dallas. The American Aircraft in Dallas broke down and took off 2 hours late so I missed my Insel flight to Cur yesterday. Upon arrival at Miami and after recovering my bags, I proceeded to Insel desk which was closed. I talked to American and they said they could do nothing since I was transferring over to a different airline. American paid for my hotel room last night. When I talked to Insel today they gave me a seat on their Bonaire Direct flight and charged me a $50 penalty. Insel told me that American was supposed to rebook me on Insel for today and that would have avoided the $50 fee. I told Insel about American saying there was nothing they could do - Insel staff told me that is not correct and that American should have rebooked me for today's Insel flight. Insel staff also told me I should fight American to get the $50 back upon my return to the states. Just a heads up on what might take place should this happen to you. I'm going on island time now.

MARCUS....sorry about the delay..since you flew right over monroe on the way, why didn't you stop and pick me up....hope this leg goes well...save a brite and lime for me...heading down in 3 weeks...MIL intow

AA sucks!

Made it!! Sorry about the Brites Monty, sitting here with an Amstel in hand right now. The owner of the Tropicanna Apt's was gracious enough to leave a 6 pack a Amstels in the fridge for me - my kind of accomodations owner on Bonaire!!

I,am with Jerry AA sucks.We missed our plane in Miami due to a late flight out of Dallas(3hr delay)due to AA. They picked up the hotel but we where out 800.00 since all flights were full to Cur nad Bonaire for 2 weeks.We in turn had to fly to aruba and then Cur.this made for a 21 hr. trip from DFW.Thank AA .We going again in Nov. but had to use airmiles so one more try on AA.

Interesting that Insel told you that--I was on last Wednesday's CUR/MIA flight that was delayed 8 hours...several people missed their connections. I was at the counter when the Insel personnel told them it was "not their problem, that they were not responsible for flights on other airlines." All we got were a couple of food vouchers that were valued at half a sandwich + iced tea.

Being someplace else, great...getting there, SUCKS.
