Hi everyone..I am set to come home with Mags the 12th but work is too much and I need a few more days to finalize tasks and then want a day or two to veg. I used DL Skymiles (U class of service on JM) to fly JM. Of course at this late date there are NO U class seats so JM said I could try stand by. On Aug. 17th there are over 100 seats on each leg (BON/MBJ and MBJ/BOS)..should I try it?? What is the deal with Stand By? I do not want to be stuck in Mo Bay for days..

Annie

Anne,
Stand by-- could give you some horror stories-- but don't want to bore you-- Why not try it-- The worst that could happen is that you- might be stuck in MB for a few days--- but then worse things could happen. Wouldn't think that the AJ flight would be that crowded this time of year.
You are missing one fantastic summer here in Massachusetts. Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Ann,

I've flown standby many times over the years. You just have to be smart about it. I wouldnt bother trying to do standby on holiday weeks. However, Aug/Sept time frame is generally slow time of the year. I'd guess an AJ flight will be less crowded on Wed than Sat...you should be able ot have a travel agent check availability of all seats. Remember, they only sell a few of the cheap seats on each flight...just because there are no cheap seats left doesn't mean the flight is full. good luck

Annie,

For a gauge of your odds, call AJ and ask them how many seats are presently free/unclaimed for the flights in question. If it's less than 4 you may have to wait until the following week (weekend flights will be full no doubt).

Jake

Anne,
Has been brutal these past few weeks- (8 days in a row of over 90) I am sure Jake and Linda might agree-- but the past 2 days have been pristine. No wind ? Last week we were up at Salisbury beach for the week-- and the only thing that saved us was the South- westerly breezes--and WARM water--- maybe around 70--( not as warm as Bonaire-- but warm enough to play & stay in the water
