hello, i have been reading bonaire talk for about a year but will make first trip in jan.originally was to come from mia sat am on AA .flight was to get into cur early pm then hop over to bon on DAE. first AA changed to getting into cur late pm then DAE got rid of late pm flight to bon.this is not new info to BT readers. what i would like to know is what is the best way to minimize the taxes and fees now that we are to spend the night in an overnight layover.we will be leaving the airport for a motel but this was because of two airline changes.do not mind supporting islands but feel motel room is enough.

Swimdad,
When on my way to Bonaire and having to spend the night on Curacao, I've paid about 8$ in customs fees. Just let the customs person know that your making connections to Bonaire in the morning. Also hang on to the paperwork as you pay on the return trip.

Just a thought if you haven't booked yet, you can fly to Aruba and fly direct to Bonaire on Tiara.the flights leave early evening.

Hotels are expensive on Curacao, since it's just one night I stay at Apartment Holanda, very, very clean and inexpensive, but it ain't the Hilton--lol

By the welcome to Bonaire Talk, The Holy Grail of Bonaire info--lol

Swimdad--living on the left coast, makes connecting to Bonaire a little bit harder especially if you don't like red eyes or DAE.

Going Thur Curacao has been really convenient, because up to now there hasn't been a dependable carrier out of Aruba to Bonaire.
With the competition the Aruba flights from Las Vegas are significantly cheaper than the Curacao flights, even with the cost of the connecting flights!
