Hi All,

I am a long time BT reader but a first time poster.

I have made 6 previous trips to Bonaire, usually flying AA to Curacao and then Divi Divi to Bonaire. This has always worked out very well in the past. Now that AA has cancelled their morning flight to CUR it has made it very hard to get to Bonaire from Curacao. I am coming to Bonaire over Thanksgiving this year. I booked the usual MIA-CUR flight. I also made a reservation on the 10:00 PM DAE flight from CUR-BON since Divi Divi was no longer an option.

I received a notification from DAE last week they have cancelled this flight. It now appears there is no way you can fly on AA to Curacao and make it to Bonaire the same day. Lucky for me I have friends that live on Curacao so I don't have to pay for a hotel room. I have re-booked on Divi Divi but now I have to come back to Curacao a day earlier than I had planned. Hopefully I won't have an issue with DAE getting a refund !!!

Jeff

Welcome to B T, I'm facing the same problem for my July trip.
Insel Air has started a new flight from Miami that terminates on Bonaire after making a stop on Curacao. The flight runs 4 days a week, Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday. The flight leaves at 3 pm-hope this helps?

Jeff,
The AA flight MIA/CUR and then Divi on to BON was my normal itinerary too. The Divi people were always great, and it allowed me to use Advantage points DFW/MIA/CUR. Now that AA has changed their flights, it's impossible to get through CUR without an overnight in both directions. My solution is DFW/SJU/BON. The SJU/BON flight is an Am Eagle turbo prop, but it has worked nicely the last few trips. That doesn't help you for this trip, but could save some grief in the future.

The Insel air from Mia leaves at 3 PM, it's out of terminal F--Thur - Fri - Sunday - Monday--does that help?

I tried emailing Insel and it appears they don't answer mails. Never the less they have a great route (MIA_BON) for getting to Bonaire but it appears, based on their site that they don't have a reciprocal route. Does anyone know if they fly Bon-Cur-Mia?

You may purchase the flight on Kayak.com. If Insel Air doesn't fly out of Bonaire early in the morning, use Divi Divi's early flight!
