Has anyone taken the Saturday flight from San Juan to Bonaire since start of September? We will be flying down next weekend and are very worried that all our luggage might not make the flight with extra worries because the next flight is not until Tuesday evening. Has anyone had any problems since the new limited American scheduling?

We flew down on Oct.7 and were supposed to return on Oct.15. That flight was cancelled due to Omar and were stuck until Sunday the 19th. Everything went smoothly both ways other than the cancelled flight. Coundn't really blame AA for that. We were given a special rate on the room by Blachi Koko since our daughters did get to Curacao on DAE that morning. They went through Miami on AA and got home to NY at 1PM Thursday. Rough travel in the Caribbean for a few days from a storm nobody expected.
Oh. we went down on the 12:10 flight out of JFK.

I would say it was pretty full,but no one left behind.

we used AE last april and no our luggage didnt make it, along with 4 other peoples until the next flight, and that night 4 new people didnt get theirs? im sure because ours took its place.
Then to top it off on our way home it happened again except this time the bag was destroyed and i needed to buy a new one....moral of the story is:fly continental

We flew our 5th trip to Bonaire on AE in October and have always gotten our luggage to Bonaire on the same flight with us. The only problem you will have related to the changed flights is if your flight in San Juan either leaves without you or doesn't leave at all. If there are problems with the flight - you will be waiting a couple days to the next flight. Same problem when you get to Bonaire - due to Omar our flight on the 15th was cancelled but we did get out on the 17th.

Traci, I have not used AA since June but I have had luggage delayed two days when it did NOT arrive on time. It is something that can happen. Carry on essentials. If you are diving for a week this obviously is a problem. Think POSITIVE.

Thanks for the replies and advise. We arrived here on the island late Saturday night (delayed out of San Juan) and with all of our luggage!!!
