AJ from Baltimore is now going to be a bit more difficult, it seems. I just booked for our usual January trip and they would not allow me to reserve the return as a same day connection. The AJ agent insisted that a layover was required.
Tried doing the same booking through Expedia, with the same result. It seems that departure times during the winter have been tweaked just enough to force an overnight in MoBay on the Saturday return from Bonaire to BWI.Try finding a decent one night hotel stay in MoBay!
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
(I'm open to hotel suggestions for MoBay...everyone I've found---that I would be willing to stay with---wants a three day minimum.)

No, I just booked today on AJ for a late November trip. Used Bonairepros.com. I was unable to get any connections with AJ in Expedia, Travelocity or Orbitz. However the AJ website indicates that you can do this. There was a little information on this in the previous thread.

Got a fare of $319 +tax WOW, a fall special!

One other note, there’s a new Aruba connection that is supposed to be approved today according to one of the previous threads. That may be an option for you. Check the thread called ROYAL ARUBIAN AIR.

Couldn’t help noticing Robert that you live in Vienna. I live right on the edge of Fairfax City right at 50 and 66…small world.

Hope you’re able to find your way to paradise without too much trouble. I was chuckling with the travel agent today (normally book online) how I’ve missed my last 2 AA connections in San Juan and wanted to try a different connect that I can miss. I told him that it's pretty humorous the effort we are all willing to go through to go to Bonaire.

Good luck!

Thanks, Scott. By the way, could not get your fare for a 14 day+ stay from Bonairepros...But they said that they can book straight thru, if you will assume the risk. Unfortunately, I am already committed, but he did put me onto a good hotel recommendation.

14 days+! wow that’s fantastic. You are correct about assuming the risk and I have for our return trip. Fortunately I’m coming back on a Friday and don’t have to be at work until Monday. He said if we miss the 30 minute connection we have to put ourselves up and we would be on the next flight “stand-by”. Since I have the extra time I’m taking the risk based on what several people have told me that it’s usually no problem to catch. The only problem will be that the hotel stay is on my dime this time. My last 2 missed connections were at least paid for by AA.

Hope you have a great trip!

Anybody cancelled on the JM 53 flight leaving Bonaire to MoBay on July 10 hear any info from the reps? We've emailed customer service twice with no luck...not even a reply. Tho we didn't mind an extra day in paradise, we incurred some extra charges (missed connections, etc), and were wondering if anyone had any luck with Air Jamaica???

You must remember it's a Caribbean airline and they handle everything at a Caribbean pace. We had a small problem last August and wrote a letter. We never heard anything for months. When we returned home from our February 2002 trip there was a letter in our mail box dated January 2002, five months after we wrote our letter to customer service. They were very nice and took care of us. It was just at a very relaxed Caribbean pace. We are about to take our fourth trip with Air Jamaica to Bonaire and like their service.

We just booked AJ in Feb. (from BWI) directly at their Laurel office. I did note afterwards the 30 minute connection. We have missed the return connection to BWI several times. However, they have put us on a flight to Phila and had a car waiting for us and drove us directly home. Another time they sent us to Newark, put us up and flew us out the next morning. I suggest you DO NOT stay overnight in MoBay for the simple reason that the airport check in is horendous and takes hours. Passing through, one never sees that side of the airport. We also have complained about the tight connection, but this time it is even worse, so I think I will go visit those nice ladies at the AJ office in Laurel. That flight is a turn around flight, so if they are delayed leaving MoBay due to waiting for flights from bad weather areas, you will miss the return connection.MAybe if we all complain, they will do something. They are a really great airline.

camre back from bonaire via aj on 8/28 voluntarily stayed over till the 30th. wanted to see a little bit of jamaica. stayed at gloustershire hotel on the"hip strip".decent place to stay for a night. but would not reccommend jamaica unless you hide in an all inclusive. people are agressively looking to sell you anything from taxi rides to ganga, and where we stayed was considered safe.there are tourist police stationed at atm machines. police with machine guns and soldiers who protect you at the beach entrance. if you can find a way to avoid a stay do it.it is not bonaire!
