We cannot wait for 2009! What's it like in November, specifically the week of THanksgiving? I searched through last year's trip reports around then and didn't pick up a lot.

Winds, skeeters, overall vis and water temperature? Is it a more busy period?

We very much appreciate a sentence or two.

About the only thing that could keep us away would be to learn it's one of the busiest times.

My first trip was over Thanksgiving week. It was nice. It did rain, but usually early in the morning and had no real impact on our trip. The mosquitos were a little heavier due to the rain, but again, nothing that a little Off or Cactus Juice couldn't handle. Have a great trip!

The water will still be nice and warm and a 3mm should be ample protection.

Been twice in November over TG period and never noticed that it's any busier. There was still plenty of sea for everyone:-)
Where are you staying - just out of interest?

It is hot and sticky!! I used to come every November, then just gave it up. It rained almost every day (in fits and starts), but the roads were wet and steamy. Winds are pretty dead, and the rain and puddles bring mosquitos. Since most of the restaurants are open-air, I just remember eating dinner, ad the sweat running down my back and face. The wet road sre very slick too....and I'm talking about running on them! It was like running on a skating rink. I sound like a total downer, and i don't mean to. My husband loves that kind of weather, but me? Not so much. That said, if that were my only option of when I could go, or not go at all, I would go.

Thanks for the responses, really. Doesn't sound all too bad, besides, if we spend enough time under water, what's the diff? But as it turns out the period is much higher for air fare, so I think we'll shoot for spring, 2009.

Thanks, again.

Eric

Hi Bas!!

How's the finger? :-)

We're considering a week in early 2009.

Hopefully our economy wouldn't have gotten much worse...

See you,

Eric (and Joe, etc)
