For those of you who bought tickets on Continental after April 5, the airline has posted a $25 2nd bag surcharge also.

In reading the Continental policy I found that the second bag charge does not apply for international destinations.

Susan is right, it's for domestic flights only.

I'm glad about that, I always over pack.

Overpacking? Never heard of it. The boy scout motto is "always be prepared". If I'd ever been a boyscout, that would be my excuse.

I e-mailed Continental about this and here is the response I received:

International 1 bag limitations were announced after the domestic 1 bag limitations. For international flights,in order to check 2 bags free of charge, your tickets must have been purchased before May 8th. As long as your tickets were paid for before May 8th, you will be able to check in 2 bags each free of charge. If paid for after May 8th, you must complete your travel by May 19th, in order to check in 2 bags each. I hope this clarifies the issue for you.
