There's news that Delta is cancelling flights on MD-88 planes to inspect wiring. Anyone know if this is the type of plane to Bonaire from Atlanta?

It appears from their website that they fly a Boeing 757 from Atlanta to Bonaire.

Well that is a relief. Thanks for the replies. I called Delta and my flight to Atlanta is in fact on the 88. At least I know now that I can drive to Atl if necessary. I'm not missing this trip!!!!!

Susan Davis said in an article that she wrote on "Bonaire Insider" that "because of the 'strong Saturday demand' that the aircraft operating between Atlanta and Bonaire will be upgraded from a 737-800 with 16 first class and 124 coach seats to a 757 with 24 first class and 159 coach seats. The upgraded equipment will be in the systems on March 22 and cover the summer schedule."

The Delta website says it's the 88's. I checked a news site that said that cancelled flights were to resume this Friday-so it sounds like it's a short interruption. I too have been so anxious-we leave next week, after having to cancel in November. Looks like it will be ok.

There was a wiring issue on those kinds of planes that the FAA is concerned about. A bunch of American flights were grounded yesterday for testing as well.

Hopefully they'll get this behind them quickly and safely. Another wonderful thing about Delta changing planes - I made my reservations in early October and they changed my flights in February, moving me to the last possible row in the back of the plane from Bonaire to Atlanta. The first Customer Service agent I called told me the plane was totally full (read: you're out of luck) and it wasn't until I called the Atlanta Customer Support number (404-715-1450) that they could move our seats more forward in the plane. Heads up for everyone that has flight changes!
