Hello all-
Been Bonaire several times using AJ and never encountered any problems with them as a carrier. Yes, they always seem to run late but, being a smaller carrier they always held the planes at Montego Bay so we could make our connecting flight.

Am concerned about Delta though. Seems like if we are going to use them we have to take a 6 AM flight out of BWI to Atlanta make their direct flight to Bonaire. And if the flight leaving BWI is late to Atlanta we could be totally screwed. According to Delta they won't hold the plane to Bonaire up like AJ.

If anyone has a better suggestion fly from BWI with flight times to get to Bonaire I would welcome it. We're looking at early July 2008.

Thanks.

Nick you can do what we did, we are flying to Atlanta the night before. Not only are we safer in making our connections, we also get a full night's sleep and do not have to get out of bed late at night for an early morning connecting flight.

ps. I suspect this thread will get moved by the moderators.

That's what we're doing-flying to Atlanta, spending the night, then a (hopefully) non stressful trip to Bonaire. We were able to get 1 night free with rewards miles. I think it's worth the extra cost for some peace of mind and some wiggle room.

We will be doing the BWI,ATL,BON flight in mid May. We're in NW VA and will drive up to BWI and spend the night to catch the early flight to ATL.

Hoping all goes well and like that we'll still get to the island mid day.

You are right about the connecting flight. That is why we are doing the Continental through Newark. You should check that flight.
