Ok, I have been a licensed travel agent since 87 and now I have a ?.

I am familiar with flight number changes and time changes but never heard of re ticketing in the instance of a new flight number. DL called me and told me I had to re ticket for my trip to BON (using DL ff for their partner, JM). So I go ALL the way to Boston which is a ROYAL pain for me living on Cape Cod and LONG story DL says JM has to re ticket. Well, JM is only open at the DL counter 3 days a week from 5-8 AM.

I call DL the next day and they say the ticket agent in BOS and the supervisor were WRONG, that they COULD have re ticketed. So, I have to go ALL the way back before July 1.

Does this make sense? I am going to go as I have changed my dates since being ticketed so along with new flight numbers I have incorrect dates..and do not want ANY problems getting to paradise..LOL..

Thanks for listening..

Annie

When I have had flight number or even date changes and have:

1) been in possession of paper tickets for the original itinerary;

2) ensured that my revised itinerary is okay in the airline's reservation's system (with a note in my record which indicates to the ticket counter at check-in if I need to pay a change fee, by the way);

then I have always been able to just take my original tickets to check-in with, tell the agent my itinerary was changed in the computer, and have them reissue my tickets at check-in time.

I'm not sure why they would want you to get them re-issued ahead of departure, unless it's because you're on FF miles instead of a paid ticket. But even so, all your info should already be in the res system, with notes describing the change.

Jake
