Hello, This board has been so helpful to us in the past. I'm hoping you can help out again. We are a group of 4 traveling to Bonaire in Feb. We are bringing 3 cases of wine for personal consumption-checked Continental and it's okay on that end. My worry is that we know we are exceeding the 2 bottle pp limit and don't mind paying duty but are fearful of confiscation.

We have used AmCar in the past and ran into issues of getting our wine very late into the trip. In the late 90's we would bring cases of wine into Bonaire without issue -but I don't know if anything has changed.

Any information you could provide would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Julie...why not save some money and time and order from Antillean Wine company in Bonaire. They have a 6 bottle limit to have the wine delivered directly to your hotel/condo so it is already there when you arrive. Also they have an extensive wine list. Check it out... www.antilleanwine.com

I agree with Rog & Karen. We've used them before and had a VERY well stocked condo when we arrived. It was WONDERFUL!!!

Hi Gang,

Hi All- I should have stated in my first post that my husband is in the wine business -wine importer. We are familiar with what is available in Bonaire sad to say but in addition to what we bring we buy a couple more cases while down there. We actually give our shipping containers to the owner(can't remember his name) at the Antillean Wine Company.

We just don't want to have what we bring taken away by customs. Thanks

Hello all and thank you!

The folks at Harbour Village were kind enough to research this so I figured I'd share this info with you. They will not confiscate the wine at the airport but they may charge duty. The duty would be the same rate you would be charged if you used a freight company.

We are four people bringing three cases and I was advised that three of us should check one box in at the airport - so don't put all three under one travelers name. They will not allow excess wine that is not for personal consumption.

I can't wait until Feb 10th I'm sure my liver can - but I can't!!

Hmmmm.....Antillean Wine company delivers! Having a nicely stocked condo upon arrival would be very convenient. I'll have to check this out right away. We arrive in Bonaire Friday night. Thanks for the info! This board is great

Sandy, I've pre-ordered from them a couple of times. Go to their website, peruse the wines, then email them which ones you'd like delivered and to what place. If they don't have a wine you like, they will suggest something similar.

It was nice to arrive with a case there and ready to open and begin celebrating being back on Bon!
