Hi BTers, sometimes procrastination pays off. We've been planning our first trip for this January, and for the past two months looking at fares out of PHL (700 - 1000 with a connection) and Newark (lowest was 650 direct), but kept putting it off until I had time to do more research. Well, my first stab at more research came this afternoon and found Continental at $365 for the direct red eye out of Newark on Saturday night with the return the following Saturday morning. Needless to say, we are now booked and looking forward to discovering Bonaire in January. Hope this is helpful for anyone else who has been experiencing sticker shock with fares from the East Coast.

73 days and counting!
Ellen

Ellen I use Yapta and my fare for a ticket I need went from 800-491.00. www.yapta.com has saved me a lot of money. BTW, I do not work for nor earn commissions from Yapta. Indeed sometimes it does pay to wait.

Hi Ann. Thanks for the info. I just signed up. We're coming to BON in March. I've been watching tickets prices on Continental. When I plugged that into Yapta it showed only 00.00 for the ticket price found. Has this happened to you before?

Thanks
Donna

I bought our tickets, same as yours, for $350 for this past Sept on the net at the last minute too(I think it was June). Best price I ever paid.
I think it definatley pays to look. I found looking into an airlines direct site does best, but you have to be viligant.
Some run their own on-line specials.
Or I've had great sucess with Kim @Carradonna tours too.
I told my husband about your fares, just in case he might want to go earlier this year. Christmas IS coming and I have a bad case of the BT blues, that would surely cure it!

Hi, Donna. I had to try a few times before it worked. I actually signed up and then decided to get "off" the site and then sign back on again and when I did that and punched in my information it worked just fine.

BTW...they quoted $831.00 or something along those lines for R/T PP (Coach) for May/June when we are going so the price is back up for that time.

Have to keep on checking. We are flying first class so I doubt the fare will go down for us at all. Never know, tho.

Kim @ Caradonna rocks :-) She has done a great job for us for 16 years now.

Thanks for this site info; always good to have a few things in your pocket :-)

Just rebooked our 3 week trip departing Newark on Continental red eye on Mar 29 at $434 r/t. Seemed like a good deal to me so we grabbed it.
