We have used Divi Air the last few years to connect from CUR to BON so we can use AA reward miles to CUR. The people are always efficient and friendly.

This year we were scheduled to depart BON on July 10 at 11:45A. The plane was loaded, but one of the engines had a faulty starter. The Divi people quickly radioed CUR and another plane was sent. Needless to say, our 11:45 departure was delayed until after 1:00PM. This created some panic on my part, since we were due to connect with the AA flight out at 2:35. I talked to the lady at the Divi desk, and she contacted AA to let them know we would be tight on our connection.

When we reached CUR, the Divi pilot helped unload bags. He grabbed a baggage cart and took our biggest bags, and said "follow me". He hustled us through passport and customs, cut through the ticketing lobby and hustled us up to the AA counter for quick baggage check in. We made our flight, with time to grab a departing Amstel at the airport bar. Without his help, we would probably still be standing in line at the customs checkpoint.

Even though our delay was due to the Divi malfunction, in this age of minimal customer service, I was pleasantly surprised when they took responsibility for helping us make our connection. Thanks Divi!

I'm not surprised by this. I have never flown Divi Divi but just talking to them at the counter one day in Curacao convinced me.

Hi,

I flew them a few years ago and their service was wonderful even with no mechanical problems. The pilot personally did the same for me as I was traveling solo with lots of bags. He also grabbed the luggage cart, got me right thr customs and to the front of the AA line for check up. Sweet. And it is so much fun to sit in the 'co pilot' seat. And this from someone who hates little planes.

Divi is a great choice.

I had this very same experience about a year ago. We had to return to Bonaire just after taking off ... divi divi had an aircraft just landing from Curacao on the ground, so they transferred our bags and off we went again.

The Divi Divi agent met us at the plane, put our bags on a cart, and took our cart for us ... through passport and customs, out to the sidewalk and on to AA ...

Excellent customer service ... no other airline would ever have gone the extra mile like that. We made the AA flight with a few minutes to spare before check in was closed.

My experience with Divi was when they could only accommodate one of us from CUR-BON. (We had had mis-matches with American and ended up going ORD-MIA-CUR, rather than ORD-SJU-BON. We were on our own getting from CUR to BON, because the only way AA could get us all the way there was two days later!)

The guy at the Divi counter gave me their phone so I could call BON to get Alan picked up and advise my status (waiting to see if I could get on DCA). Later when I knew I would make the DCA flight, Divi again let me use their phone to call BON to advise my arrival.

Definitely excellent customer service --- and I wasn't even flying with them!!!

How much time do you need in CUR to clear customs in order to continue on to BON?
I'm looking at a 3:10 arrival to CUR on a Saturday.

We've done Divi Divi three years running, coming in at 2:10 and catching the 3:30 to Bonaire and had no trouble with time, customs in Curacao is pretty quick. Just have your reservations with Divi Divi first. You purchase your tickets upon arrival.
