Hello All,

I can get from Tennessee, USA to Curacao using my Delta frequent flyer miles. I am wary of the inter-island flights. Can anyone give me advice on how to book with these carriers? Is there a preferred carrier from Curacao to Bonaire? My wife and I would be flying in on a Saturday and departing on a Saturday.

Thank You in advance!

Vernon

Hi Vernon and welcome from a fellow Tennessean. You have several different options flying from Curacao to Bonaire. DAE - Dutch Antilles Express, Divi, and I believe there may be one more. I have flown DAE from Aruba to Bonaire this summer and they were very easy to deal with. I booked it on Expedia so no worries.

And had I looked at your profile earlier I would have said that I am right up or down the street from you - I live in Kingsport. Send me an email and we'll touch base if you like.

And you can always try the DAE website. www.flydae.com

Right now I am actually booked into Aruba, but Delta can change that to Curacao which is closer to Bonaire and a cheaper flight.

Vernon forget DAE for that flight and use Divi Divi (Divi Divi website). $90 round trip and they depart every 50 minutes during the day. Great little airline with a much better attitude than DAE. Make sure you book early as the flights do fill up.

Excellent Cecil. I don't have experience with Divi but hey - it's all good. And Vernon - I most certainly would change from Aruba to Curacao - it's easier all the way around.

We always fly Divi Divi from CUR to BON. It's our preferred route. JAX to MIA to CUR to BON.

Never a single problem with Divi for us.
While waiting for the flight...check your bags and walk west from the main terminal 50 yrds and there is a little vender kiosk with ice cream and beer

Amstel float....WOOHOO.

Reminds me of an afternoon in BON. Eva and I were downtown and we bought a coke at the Subway sandwich shop and then went next door and got ice cream. We started shoveling ice cream into the coke and the local teenage girls were looking at us like we were crazy.

Anybody notice a coke float craze among the local teens on BON lately.

Yep -- fly to Curacao and take Divi Divi over. They are very prompt and affordable. Three things to remember:
a) They fly daylight hours only.
b) You often pay when you get there rather than when you make the reservations (although they may or may not ask for a CC when you book).
c) If you fly with lost of luggage, some of it may follow on the next flight (this hasn't happened to me yet but they do state it is a possibility). On your return leg, if you have lots of luggage, you can drop it off at the BON airport and they will hold it in CUR until you arrive.

Seriously, this is one of the best ways to get to BON...
