That sounds awfully close to me. JFK is huge. What airline are you using? Can you do BOS to SJU to BON on American?? Seems a lot easier to me. Too many connections means that much more can go wrong. One late flight and all hell breaks loose... lol.

Can't -no more flights from boston to cur, unless we travel late, won't arrive into cur until after 8:30 and then will have to wait for 3 hrs in cur. and arrive in bonaire after midnight. that's why we are trying the aruba to bonaire. leaving at 6:00 am and arriving in bonaire at 8:00. spoke with AA rep. she said we will be in AA terminal so there won't be any problems. only worry is the weather, hate to travel north and then south. o-well already have tickets. wish us luck!!

This past Saturday, in leaving Maui we had a 70 minute connection in LA to catch our LA - Orlando flight. The folks in Maui were trying to best route our luggage, and told us ours was an illegal connection, that 90 minutes was the minimum. (Forewarned!) And since our flight into LA landed 40 minutes late, we certainly did not make our flight home. We were also told since our delay was due to headwinds - ie. weather - the airlines were not responsible for providing accommodations over night. Did I mention every direct flight to Orlando was sold out until Monday....! Fortunately a very skilled United representative misrouted us to Washington DC over night, and then into Orlando at noon on Sunday. Our luggage beat us home!

But since you already have tickets - best of luck! And I hope you find capable airline employees throughout your journey to help you along the way!

When we found our seats on the last leg to be in the very last row, and E & F, my husband started to grumble - until I reminded him that if they offered to strap us very tightly to the roof of the plane to get us home the night before, we'd have taken it! We kept telling ourselves that the journey is part of the flavor of the trip! :-)

I'm confused... you say no more flights from Boston to CUR... but what about Boston to San Juan? Have you checked this route? From San Juan you can then fly directly to Bonaire.

I think Pam is probably not aware of Divi Divi air and thus feels she has to go through Aruba. From what I see AA flys BON-MIA-CUR and Continental flys BON-EWR-CUR and they get there mid afternoon.

I think you're right, Mickey, and she isn't fully aware of her options. I've had some bad itineraries before, but that one made me break out in hives. lol.

When I come from Columbus, I fly either to Chicago and then to San Juan, or to Boston and then to San Juan. I've been pretty lucky most of the time.

Also, mods, should this be moved to "Getting to Bonaire" ??

I love your magic. :-)

I'm still confused why she is picking this route... maybe she'll come back and enlighten us.

Pam...FIVE stops??? Sounds masochistic to me.Why don't you just fly to Newark NJ & then take the red-eye nonstop to Bonaire on Sat evening? Make it easy on yourself.

I've tried boston to san juan over $900 for ticket then more for flight from san juan to bonaire. This is my seventh flight to bonaire. I am aware of divi divi we used them last year. great but you have to arrive in bonaire early. they don't fly after dark. I SHOULD have booked early in Oct. then we would have been able to do the same thing we did last year. AA boston to miami, miami to cur. then divi divi to bonaire. no more flights since we are traveling with 4 other people. and the price when you get down to the last few goes way up. I don't think this will be THAT bad. Boston to JFK is quick, our luggage will already be on the plane. And we will still be in bonaire by 8:00. going home will be fine. we are going from bonaire to san juan (6 hr. layover than on to boston. Just goes to show The lengths we will go to arrive in our favorite island for 2 WEEKS. I do wish the flights were easier, but then EVERYONE would be in bonaire!!
