Hi, Will be in Curacao for 5 days around Thanksgiving...I'd love to go to Bonaire for a day trip. How does one books tickets on Divi Divi? and where is their timetable? Their website is pretty skimpy.
thanks
Larissa

Hi larissa, and welcome to BT. Just email Divi divi with your needs, and they will tell you what they have available. flydivi@interneeds.net will get you to them. I'd contact them sooner rather than later, as their most desireable flights (earliest and latest in the day) book quickly and I imagine holiday flights book quickly also.

Good luck!!

Thanks Becky, just emailed them. Should I rent a car there if I fly in the morning and return in the evening? Are there really no ferries between the islands?

For me, I would probably rent a vehicle... it's just easier to get around. You could also rent a bike or a motorized scooter if you were so inclined - might be fun :-)

From what I understand about the previous ferry service it was called the vomit comet. The seas are really rough, and the trip could take many hours. Much easier to take a 20 minute plane ride - and less turbulence!

First I would ask, why would you go to Bonaire just for a day? Diving for a day seems a bit extreme and there is little shopping to do. You can rent a car and drive around the Island, visit the park for a fee (rent a suv or truck for this place) and have a few beers. Cost to fly over and back is around 80.00 us dollars, and includes the Bonaire domestic exit tax.
The defunct ferry service being called the vomit comet is more kind than I would have called it a few years back when I took it over and back.
Booking space on Divi Divi is easy enough by email or a phone call 8 to 5 daily 599-9-988-1050
You may also want to check DAE who also have flights to/from Bonaire.
I personally love Bonaire, but I am a diver and most divers love this little island.

hİ. I WAS wondering if there is a ferry between Bonaire and Curacao and if there is how much will it cost and the time table? Does anyone have any opinion on this subject?

Welcome to BT, Eda. There is not a ferry from Curacao anymore. There used to be one but it was a very rough ride and went out of business.

Indeed, the passenger ferry Chocogo (I think) is no more. There is a freighter (Don Andreaous?) that comes to Bonaire weekly.

Really, Divi Divi is so much better....
