We leave the 16th and this is number 8 for us. Seems like security is a bigger issue? We usually carry our computers and regulators with us in our carry-ons. Anybody had any trouble with that lately? Cincinnati to Chicago to San Juan to Bon. Anyone had any trouble lately? Any observations?

I've travel extensively in the US with my laptop and regulator recently and have had no problems. They do the bomb tests on the reg, which just delays getting through. Other than that, just don't take anything liquid or gel. I even had lipstick removed from me.
I've asked about international and laptops and they tell me (TSA) that there are no problems now. We'll see, I'll be taking mine in October!

David & Kathy,

In the last two weeks I've flown Curacao to Miami, Miami to Curacao, Bonaire to San Juan, and San Juan to Boston, and I have not seen much change in security screening. I have not packed any liquids, and my solid deodorant has not even raised an eye brow. My computer and gaming (Nintendo DS Lite) and GPS equipment and all my power supplies have gone through fine. Your experience may end up different, but I doubt it.

Jake

Well call me paranoid but I called the TSA in DFW one day because it dawned on me that my reg set up does have liquid in it. The compass contains liquid, even though it is a "closed" system . So I put the question to the TSA and after speaking with a supervisor it was determined that I could take everything onboard the plane in my carry on luggage with the exception of my compass. Now that does not mean that you might get away with it at any airport including DFW but I for one will be packing my compass in my checked luggage.

Jimmy

Wow, Jim... I never thought of that! I'll have to figure out how to remove mine because it's attached directly to my computer.... Thanks!!

Hi,

Returned from Bon thr S Juan a week ago with reg and computer with compass with NO problem.

Nor where they interested in chicken from the chicken lady or ribs from Lucille's new place Pampas. So ditto to Jake's experience. Lydia

Well, my compas is part of my computer too, so no way to take it out. I wonder if the TSA guy knew what a compass was? lol...
