Is there yet an alternative to DAE for Aruba-Bonaire RT? I thought I'd heard that DiviDivi might start that route? I'm looking at January 2007.

I have not heard of anything yet. If you have a group I'm pretty sure Divi Divi will you from Aruba. I spent some time last night staring at that DAE schedule and the short answer is it sucks. There is no way to get to Bonaire any earlier than 8:00PM. It look like Miami to Curacao to Bonaire may be a better option.

Josie you do know in January you could take the red-eye Continental flight from Newark.

Cecil: I'm already booked on USAirway FF miles to Aruba. I'm taking the opportunity to have a few "beaching-it" days on Aruba, then on to 5 weeks in Bonaire. Life is hard!!!

The DAE schedule, as they tell me it right now, isn't too bad, although $200 RT does seem a rip-off, so I think I'll book it, just so I don't have to think about it any more.

If DiviDivi starts something, then I'll re-evaluate it.

For future years, that Continental red-eye does look good -- I could actually get there from Rochester on a reasonable schedule. I'll be looking at that next year, for sure.
Josie

Cecil, I saw you mention this on another post, the option of going Boston-Miami-Curacao-Bonaire instead of Boston-SJ-Bonaire. To me, the thought of having another segment to fly (two stops instead of one) and having it be in Miami is just not worth it just to get in a few hours earlier. We'll discuss it on Saturday at the BBQ!!

I WAS going to post something about Aruba beaches and sand blasting on here for Josie but now that I am officially WAY TOO JEALOUS I'm not going to do it. 5 weeks - 5 weeks. MAN! I supposedly am off 5 weeks but I get to do that here in Northeast Tennessee. Wonder if I could talk my Dr. into doing a house call on Bonaire?

I've read there are a couple of new airlines doing ABC inter-island flights. Is there still no way to get from Aruba to Bonaire without stopping in Curacao?

Guys Insel Air just started it flights from Curacao to Aruba. Introduction price will be only NAFL216 for a two way ticket. I'm convinced they are going to keep their prices lower then the other airlines flying this route.
For the moment you will still have to depend of DIVI and DAE, for the Curacao -Bonaire connection.
