Warning! ALM has changed their schedule! On a routine 'double-check" on our tickets, our ticket agent found that our March 21st flight from Curacao to Miami has added a stop in Port Au Prinz(sp?). This puts us into Miami an hour late, making our connection time just under 1.5 hours. Normally, the computer will not allow you to book anything under 1.5 hours. We have enough time, but only IF ALM has no delays. I don't know when this schedule change starts but suggest people check their Miami arrival times, not just departure times!

Kate ~ I bow to you in gratitude for checking ahead and for warning the rest of us ALM passengers (esp. 1st timers) about such changes in scheduling. We return on ALM on the 29th of March but am not sure we are scheduled to stop anywhere between Bonaire and Miami -- but will definitely do our own "routine" checks. BTW, that place in Haiti is spelled "Port au Prince", but the French accent makes it sound like a "z".

Nancy - Our original ticket did not indicate a stop between Curacao and Miami either! Despite the negative stuff you've heard about ALM, they do seem to be running pretty well these days - I haven't heard of any major problems for quite awhile and have never personally had a bad experience. I prefer to be an optimist about the whole because I have no other airline options. Besides, we always get there eventually! My only problem is we travel 21 hours with small children to get there so any added time is pretty painful!

Sorry, but there was no box to add a message to. I just checked ALM's website and our flights on 4/28 and 5/12 are still direct from Miami to Bonaire and Bonaire to Miami. Hope they don't change I really don't want to do transfers. Thanks for the heads iup

Kate ~ I hope your trip goes smoothly. We have to spend a night in Miami on was to bonaire, becasue couldn't make connecting flight from Miami to Curacao in one day. So while it costs a bit more (well, we'd pay for that night in Bonaire, anyway), we can break up the long day of travel and get some rest inbetween. Unfortunately - or not - we have a long layover in Curacao before getting to Bonaire. Did you call ALM directly to find out about the schedule or go through a travel agent? If you called directly, can you post their tel. # here? Thanks

Oops --I should self-check those typos before posting... that first line should read "...on way to Bonaire...."

Nancy - I have a friend here in Yellowknife who is a ticket agent. She does a little extra for me, like confirming ALM schedules a few days before we go! You can check out ALM schedules on their web site, www.airalm.com. When I checked, it appeared that it is only the Tuesday morning flight and one Saturday flight that they have changed. The web site has all of the phone numbers too. It is actually a pretty good site. Good Luck!

Kate - I went to the ALM site and checked schedules and saw no changes around the time we are traveling, but there may be changes on other days. What day do you return? I wonder if there is a particular place where CHANGES are posted, or if one just checks the regular schedule where you would book online. - Nancy

Nancy - Yes, I just checked through the online booking section. I doubt they would actually be able to keep up if they had a "change section"! All it says is that there is one stop, it does not say where. You are probably okay if it is not showing anything there. At this point, we are just happy to be leaving as it was -39 this morning!
