We're flying from Houston - Miami - San Juan - Bonaire - we'll have 3 hrs in Miami & a little less than 2 hrs in San Juan.

Kathy, I am assuming you are on AA since you are flying through San Juan. In Miami AA utilizes several concourses, some with "better" food than others. You should be able to pick up sandwiches, salads, fruit, beverages without much trouble. There is a Chili's To Go in one concourse as well as a variety of other options. My layovers in SJ are usually more like 6 hours so I always leave the airport but am not sure I would do so with only 2 hours. Near the gate for Bonaire there is a small snack bar where one can always smell hot dogs. I recall seeing other spots but do not have personal experience with any.

There are several eating places close to the gate. As stated above only one snack shop near gates 1 & 2 (the AE gates). The others, including a sit down hamburger type joint, are located on the upper level. You'll have plenty of time to eat during your layovers.

Because I am half crazy, I order my favorite pizza the night before I leave and put a large portion of it in a ziplock for the trip. It is yummmmmmy and a little piece of home. So to speak. lol.

Just be flexible...pack enough snacks to get you through to San Juan, just in case you don't have time to eat in Miami. It never fails, when we plan to eat at a specific airport, we are usually late coming in and don't have the time. Both Miami and San Juan have food areas. Near the gate in San Juan, there is also a pizza place (Dominoes?)in addition to the hotdog one.

Bring food..the snack shops near Gate 1 are not great. Dominos pizza always has a long line and is pricey. There is a Subway but you have to leave security to find it I think...
