We bought our flight tickets to Aruba for a two week vacation to Bonaire in December of '06. We're arriving in Aruba at 3:40 on a Wednesday and departing from Aruba at 4:30 on a Sunday. How soon should we purchase our tickets from Bonaire Express for the connection flight?? I've read that their flight schedules change frequently.

hi tania, welcome to bonaire talk. bonaire express is now called dae (dutch antilles express) and, in true island fashion, could change names or owners again before you fly. i don't know if you can book a ticket from the states, i'm sure others on the boards can help you with that. if you can't, i'd recommend buying your ticket as soon as you get off the plane on wednesday. if the ticketing procedure at dae is anything like it was with bonaire express and bonairexel you could be waiting a long time for a ticket. there have been postings on these boards about people who have missed their flights while waiting to get ticketed.

Hi, found this link, and believe you can get tickets ahead, I always like to have tickets prior. http://www.oldbonairetalk.com/newsgroup/messages/29/264738.html?1145464798

Booking DAE now for December is not too soon, as long as they indeed are taking reservations. (I seem to recall they only start booking 6 months before their flights.) See Debbie's link above where I and several others posted info about DAE. Suggest initially contacting them by e-mail, and then sending your credit card info by fax. We have used them several times, and each worked just fine with only a faxed confirmation. You do however want to stop by their ticket window (located in the small building between the baggage/customs/immigration area and where you actually check in for the DAE flight) to pick up an "official" copy of their "paid" confirmation fax to you. The ticket window and their check-in building are to the right after you depart the Aruba customs area.
