We did the red eye from Chicago to Houston to Bonaire. It is great. We left on time. Arrived early in Houston and left 20 minutes late out of Houston and arrived early ( 5:30 am ) in Bonaire. Its a great flight. You have all day Saturday to start your vacation in Bonaire. We did leave early the following Saturday ( 7:30 am ) out of Bonaire, but Continental was great. We even got real food on the plane, not only pretzels or peanuts.

7:30 is a killer out of Bonaire, even 8 is a killer on AE... ruins all the rest you got on your vacation! Love the AJ time coming home, wish they could all do that!

We're trying a new Continental route to Bonaire in a couple of weeks: CO non-stop from Newark to Curacao, then DEA. We've never spent much time in Curacao so we're going to spend a couple of nights there before hopping over to BON .. this also avoids problems with tight connections, which have led to unplanned overnights in places we didnt want to be on some other trips.

Any experience with this CO flight?

John

John - when did they announce the EWR-BON flight? I'm booked EWR-CUR next Feb, but am willing to pay a change fee to go non-stop.

I am looking to do a Bonaire trip 11/11 - 11/19 2006. I am searching travelocity and continetal.com ... coming up empty of reasonable flights from IAH (Bush Houston Intercontinental) to BON (Bonaire). Literally, the continental site is not pulling up anything and int'l call center has a 25 minute wait. anyone have specifics on Houston to Bonaire with flight time under 10 hours?

Doug, try using 11/10 -11/18. Continental flies out of Houston on Fridays at 11:30pm, arrives on Bonaire Sat mornings. Fly out of Bonaire Sat mornings at 7:30--8:00. At this time that is the schedule, they do not fly to Bonaire on any other days. Hope this helps you. Andy

That's right, you must use the right dates or you get nothing. We have pulled up from $1200 to $1500 per person!!! for this flight from San Antonio Tx. We finally got enough AMEX points to fly free but it took all of our 140,000 points to do it. Landing Bonaire Sat. 15 July. Diane and Bea...you got food that late at night? Or just returning?

Just for fun we're going the Continental route to Aruba, then DAE to Bonaire & back:

Sat 6am out Chicago, arrive Aruba 3:10PM via Houston

Leave Aruba 6:30PM arrive Bonaire 8PM.

Cont: $588 pp
DAE: $202 pp
Total $790 pp from Chicago

Some others may find this route cheaper too.

Rebecca, on the late night flight from Houston to Bonaire, we got pretzels. Naturally that is the time of night that we should be sleeping, but had a movie anyways. Saturday morning leaving we got a full breakfast . Cereal, muffin, fruit and omelets. It was good ! nice flights to ! The flight attendants were real nice on Continental. We would fly them again :-)

If you want flexible travel dates and times, best thing to do is fly into Aruba, from most major cities there are typical one or more direct flights into Aruba. Out of Aruba there are regular flights to Bonaire every day with DAE, you just have to purchase your ticket seperate with them...sorry no ff program with them so for those of you using your miles...got to pay for that last little leg, but it's fairly cheap

I booked O'hare-Miami-Cur on AA ($640) then Divi Divi Cur-Bon ($80 round trip plus taxes).

Maybe I shouldn't mention it or the demand will go up along with the prices... :-)
