My wife and leave on the 6:40am flight out of O'hare on AJ. What would be the best time to arrive if we wanted to see if we could bump up to first class (to surprise my wife)? Also, does anyone know what this would cost?

In the past (JUNE 2005)to upgrade to first class on AJ cost me $100 per segment. It was $400 ATL-MJB-BON for 2 people one way. I am one of those people who always try to arrive about 15 mins before the 2hr check in time. Call ORD to see what time they open. Try to buy the upgrade from MJB-BON in ORD. Sometimes AJ would not let me upgrade the 2nd segment until I got to MJB.
