Can someone please tell me which side of the plane Bonaire can be viewed from when going to Bonaire? My husband is sitting on one and I'm sitting on the other. And, what side can it be viewed when leaving Bonaire?

Julie, I like to be sitting on the right side when getting on the plane. (the left after you are sitting down.) Great views for sure !

For arrival sit on the port side of the plane. On departure it may not matter for often the plane circles the Island before heading North.

I don't know if your airline matters, but I've flown with AA every time except one, and leaving the airport runway, it heads north before heading west, and goes over Kralendijk. Have your camera ready to capture the last moments of Bonaire....

You didn't mention who you were flying with. If flying on American Eagle... Sit on the Left side.( that is as you enter the plane your sits would be on the right) As you approach Bonaire from the North, you will fly over Santa Barbara & maybe the Hato area & then out to sea, over Klein, a sharp loop left& then into the airport. You will have a better view of the downtown area. If you arrive on AJ or Continetal, I would still sit on the Left side. When leaving Bonaire, the left side is good. It will give you a final look of the island as you leave. Both AJ & Continetal will loop around and fly over the island heading west. American Eagle takes off towards the North.

jan, i think on the AE flights you enter from the rear of the plane so nothing would change. i agree with george, the port side usually works best for a view when you're landing (altho with AE you are landing in the dark). the port side is usually better for takeoffs but the starboard side is ok until the plane banks to make the turn to the north.

This is why I like flying divi, you can sit next to the pilot and look out of the front side of the plane.......
