I heard a rumor from a pretty good source that Continental is going to soon be flying non-stop to Bonaire from Newark. If true, that would be outstanding news for those of us in the northeast. Does anyone have any more info on this?

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for this to be true! Would like Phila. better as Newark has a lot of delays and shuts down in a heartbeat if bad weather is even mentioned. Could be a blessing and heartbreaker combo.

Hello folks, talked with John (Smack) yesterday, he has worked for many years at Continental. He informed me that he has not heard anything about this yet. On the upside he said that one of Continental's goals is to enlarge its' Caribbean offering. He will let us know if he receives an official notice in this matter.

Hi
If you enter EWR -BON in Continental's website at this time you will get a return. It is through Houston however. Long way around. Mick

Tish, I believe you are right, but it was mentioned above that it will be non-stop from Newark to Bonaire. Now, that would be super duper! Going from Newark to Curacao is not a good thing for me. Going from Newark to Bonaire non-stop, now ya got my attention. Tom, thanks for the info and will keep posted. That would be just one flight for me if it truly came about!

BTW, enjoyed meeting you at Gibi's. :-)

Tom,
Since Smack's an "insider", tell him to start lobbying for it to be from Boston - we don't even have Air Jamaica as an option anymore, we need it more!!!

I enjoyed meeting you too, Debbie!
Continental already flies Newark to Curacao--definitely.
Sorry that doesn't work for you. It's just a short, cheap hop on Divi Divi to Bonaire.

If Continental would do it, it would only be from Newark. If service to Bonaire would begin from PHL, it would be on USAirways. American Airlines is being very conservative with its growth, so service from MIA or JFK seems unlikely.
