sorry, paula, i can't help you with the cost. we fly AA from cleveland during the week when it's cheaper. last i checked on continental it was cleveland/houston/bonaire for about $925 pp/rt if i remember correctly. we paid about $700 pp/rt on AA/AE to fly cle-ord-sju-bon.

there are many other people on BT from the new jersey/nyc area who could give you better info about the cost

You can check the cost with Continental, but don't bother flying to Houston.
Especially in July, which is hurricane season, you should jump completely over the hurricane belt by flying nonstop from Newark to Curacao on Continental and then flying Divi Divi to Bonaire.
Welcome to BT, Paula!

Paula, welcome to BT. Since the only way to fly from the West Coast to SJ (or any Southern stop) to get to Bonaire, flying in July should not be a problem with going in/out/through Texas. San Juan seems to get more of the brunt (IMHO)...been there done that in extreme conditions. It does get bumpy going over that entire section once in the air, and you may have small delays, but we have never really had a problem having stops in Houston or Dallas going to/from Bonaire during Hurricaine season.

Cynde, Paula is flying from NYC, if I am reading her message correctly at the top of this thread. Continental flies nonstop from Newark to Curacao.
Or did I miss something on another thread???

Paula - check out the Continental non-stop flight from Newark to Curacao - it's only $500, then add $80 round trip for DiviDivi and you have quite a bargain and a reasonable itinerary.

How can I get from Aruba to Bonaire on feb 11 - just on DAE or will Divi be running and how do I contact them? aslo is Bonaire Excel still around?

DAE is the latest name of what once was called BonairExpress and before that BonairExcel. It stands for Dutch Antilles Express.
The other thread about Divi Divi possibly beginning an Aruba to Curacao route contains a guess it might begin in early February.
Getting permits from the governments in Aruba and the NA takes longer always than expected, so DAE will probably be your only choice.
Welcome to BT, Rose!!
You can find the urls for those two airlines on other Getting to Bonaire threads.
