Haven't been back to Bonaire in a couple of years. When I went to the AJ website to find a flight, I couldn't seem to get one during the week. Are they only flying from Montego Bay on Saturdays now?? Yikes!!

That's correct. Ditto Continental.
AA flies to Bonaire more often than that though.

AJ has also eliminated some of their flights from the US, including my usual origin of Boston.

Larry, we have also been crossed in the AJ web of deceit, booking flights only to have them vanish. However, we have done US Air to both Aruba and Curacao then DAE over to Bonaire.

Our thinking is this. There is no direct flight from CONUS to Bonaire, except that crazy Houston flight. We always flew AJ. What is the difference if you transfer in Montego or Curacao or Aruba? Plus that little jump on DAE is only 15 minutes from Curacao compared to 1 hour and 35 minutes from Montego. In Phila, we have direct flights to Aruba almost everyday. It's not bad at all.

We are coming from Atlanta so seems we are pretty much locked in to AJ through Montego Bay to Curacao.

Is DAE the old Bonaire Excel, and how reliable is it? Gee, it seems they've had two name changes in just two years. We were actually on Bonaire when they made their inaugural flight. Have they gone bankrupt twice in 2 years? The DAE website was nothing more than an e mail address to make reservations. No round-trip prices from Curacao or flight times given at all. Needing to make reservations soon but not flying for a few months. Is that taking a really big chance with DAE?? Those in the know, please help! I would be most grateful.

Why would you be locked into that route, Larry?
You could fly AJ to Bonaire instead of to Curacao on a Saturday, or you could fly Delta from Atlanta to Aruba on any other day, to name two other possibilities.
There's a huge amount of information in other existing "Getting to Bonaire" threads about both DAE and Divi Divi, the two airlines that fly from Curacao to Bonaire. Check out those threads!! You'll get answers to all your questions.
Good luck!

We are using some flight certificates that are only good on AJ and also the days we need to travel for vacation are other than Saturdays.

Thanks for the tips on the other threads. I'll try to find them.

Ah! Larry, I knew I must be missing something. Yes. that's your only option in that case.
But you do have two options on how to travel from Curacao to Bonaire. I recommend Divi Divi if you can fly during daylight.

Fortunately I can, and I just found their website on another thread. So thanks for that recommendation.

When flying Divi Divi, be careful with your bag weight. They fly small planes, so they have to be strict about it. They are the most reliable service from Curacao to Bonaire, though.

Kevin, I have not known Divi Divi to impose any weight restriction. If they have too much baggage or it's too heavy, they will bring some of the baggage on a later flight though.
