Hi, Jerry! Write on your immigration form "in transit to Bonaire." Make clear to anyone who tries to charge you a departure tax later that you have stayed on Aruba less than 24 hours and are therefore exempt. You might need to show your boarding pass for your flight from the US so they can check the date to verify that, so be sure to have it handy. When you pick up your bags and clear customs, turn right and go outside or go outside and turn right (either order). This will lead you to the DAE ticket counter. If you need to pick up your DAE tickets, that's where you do it. If you don't, you still might want to check to be sure your departure information is still the same. DAE used to accept CASH ONLY on Aruba. So if you have to get your tickets there, be sure you have the cash. If they move you to a different flight, make them reticket you. Otherwise, you can be refused boarding or dragged off the plane in Curacao. And at check in be sure your boarding pass is for the flight you are scheduled for. I have had trouble with this! If you can't check in for your flight yet, there's an outdoors place to eat, good Antillean food, very close to the DAE ticket counter. After you check in for your flight, you go through immigration again and give them the short part of your immigration form and then follow the international departures arrows (rather than the US arrows) to your gate. That should do it! Hope the travel gods smile on you!! See you on Bonaire! Tish |
