I read many people talk about how AJ is delayed on their flights. I'm wondering if this has a lot to do with them sending out from a hub in chicago. Ohare is natorious for being about an hour behind on their flights, and I've heard they might be fined because it's been delaying worldwide traffic so bad. Do you feel that this is the problem or do you have your own theory about AJ?

AJ has been on time the last 10 times we have used them from ORD to BON. If I were you I wouldn't be late arriving to the airport... Ron

Shawn, We live 40 miles from the airport and Drive to Avistar Airport Parking (847) 678-7225 and leave our van. They have a shuttle that is met right outside the costoms door at terminal #5. http://www.airportdiscountparking.com/ If you pay for the parking ahead of time on line it is $7 a day other wise it is $9.95. We arrive at the airport around 4 to 4:30 am. Do you have assigned seats? If not go to AJ's site and get them assigned. You are allowed 2 check in bags each (50 lbs. per) and a carry on. They weigh everything. If oyur bags are over 50 lbs it will cost you more money. If they are over 70 lbs they will be shipped as fright at $1.75 per lb. Don't worry about AJ. It is the best thing out there for getting to Bonaire at this time. Have a good trip and enjoy... Ron

A lot of the 'AJ was late' posts happened before they reorganized earlier this year. Not many since: apparently they have tightened up their operation, judging only by the lack of complaints and some happy posts. Best to judge current service by recent results.

Shawn,Can't remember where in WI you said you lived, but if you are taking the AJ early Sat am flight when you go to Bon, consider staying overnight the night before at a hotel near airport that allows "free" parking included in their room fee. My friend and I do that, each year.....usually under $100 for room and parking (usually for up to min. 2 weeks at most of them) and free shuttle to airport and back. IMHO it's a good deal.
Yes, do NOT be late getting to airport, they can and will bounce you if you do not check in ahead of time! Good luck whenever you are going!

Shawn,
I am from Wis and fly AJ all of the time to Bonaire and I have never had a problem (7 trips) departing O'Hare-the flight origionates in Chicago. I have only experienced one mishap 3 years ago in Montego Bay-the plane broke down and we were delayed 8 awful hours.

I have a very nice friend who drives us down to Chicago. Where I live it is only a 45 min. drive so it isn't that bad. On the plus side no traffic at that time of day!!
