Ok be patient all things in the works. I cannot say much but will give hints. Everything is looking up!

We know IAH-Bon is a definite.
Northeast BTers be patient good things will be coming your way.
FLL is looking like a VERY viable option for the high season.
Delta who?

Most of you know that I am never at a loss for words (Kelly, Mary, et al...lol) and I have kept quiet on this airlift thing for very good reasons.

I was afraid to post because I didn't want others to think it was "self promotion", what I'm about to say that is.

I am the Chairman of the Bonaire Airlift Consordium, a NON PROFIT organization who is organizing the FLL flight. Expect a lot of information over the next 2 months regarding airfare and who is going to do what. As I said we are NON PROFIT and we were created as a TOTAL Bonaire effort. I will tell you this; I feel that it will be much easier this season to get to Bonaire direct from the States from more than 1 hub...So if you were worried about airfare for your holiday vacation, don't be!

Hey Liz,

Don't quite understand all of what you said, but I think this is good news! Great. I have not made my airline reservations for February yet. Keep me informed when you can. I would be leaving out of Phila. of course. Thanks, Debbie

Liz

It was a good idea, and since it is in the best interests of all resort operators (all Bon businessmen/women actually), I'm glad it's happening. Bravo!
Anything I can do to help, just yell.

Carl

Carl,

Can't go into details, but the figures for the FLL flight, regarding increased tourism to the island is huge, especially since we are going to use a larger plane than the others.

As I said, the entire Bonaire effort thing seems to be going extremely well. All business persons have finally realized (quite a few already knew) that is was time to take the "bull by the horns". Expect a formal announcement sometime in August.

Liz

Wish you guys lots of luck and really hope it works. Please note that aircraft rental (lease and/or charter) prices increased because of the recent increase in fuel prices. Also bear in mind that the group has to be flying on the say dates to and from and if there is no guaranty for scheduled flights you have people wondering whether the aircraft is coming or not on the designated date. Aircrafts flying out of FLL range from seating of 110 to 360/410 DC9-32 - 767-300ER - B747-200 (Maybe also a DC10-30 - A good price depends on the amount of passengers per trip and the price of the aircraft itself will not change if you just have 10 passengers. Also when you charter an aircraft there will be catering for the full flight and if the flight is half empty - no explanation required -- I am very happy for Bonaire and I am certain that things are going to be O.K. My projects for Bonaire will continue and I am certain that soon the problems of airlift will belong to history.
