This looks like great news that a potential strike was averted.

22 days till May 28!

Hope springs eternal. At least all parties involved are showing interest in compromise. NOBODY ever recovers from strikes or closures that's for sure.

I did really like their service from Chicago to Bon. That early arrival and late departure and brief layover in Montego Bay is quite the package.

Now all I need is for this doggone lottery ticket in my wallet to do it's job this weekend and I can start packing. lol

OK Mary, you made me do it. I had to register on this dang board just to tell you to get back to work!

No, really this is pretty good news considering all the bad press I've been hearing about these past few days.

We be divin! (I Hope)

Love ya! Bill Knauer

Thanks for the heads up Mary!
Gee William, does being married to an accountant mean Mary has to account for her time?

Hello Seb,

Actually I can't really add 2+2 as I'm an IT Auditor and know very little about accounting.

The only thing I pay attention to is 3000psi and where my next tank is coming from!

But to answer your question..."YES", she does have to account for her time on my watch!

Take care and good luck with your future travels to the Island.

I really do hate to turn on a cold shower but...

This is one of at least three unions.

An agreement here doesn't guarantee that AJ will fly all its present routes.

There is at least one interesting sentence in the article: '. overtime will be paid at one and a half times after 80 hours, instead of 1.7 times, after 72 hours;...' The pilots are flying more than 80 hours in how long??? If in a month, then they fly only 10+ hours a week and will be wide awake; certainly not overworked. (I think this is 'block time', i.e., time on the aircraft, and doesn't include time off the aircraft in preparation or after a flight) If in any shorter period, then???? Isn't the US limit 60 hours/month firm?

This certainly appears to be progress! Keep those fingers and toes crossed that all works out with all of the folks involved with the unions and keeping the airline in the air.

See you on the plane on May 28th Mary! Carole

I see that my last above sounds very negative. Just meant to say all the necessary things haven't happened yet. It will be good if AJ does put it's house completely in order and gets back to good service to Bonaire. :–)

Well, Glen, you're just pointing out reality. But at least it is one step!

Glen, I agree with Mary. It is what it is and your points are well taken.

Hey, Carole! I'm now a Delta lurker. Something my husband probably won't like very much (haha). I see that our MBJ to BON got in 12 minutes early today!! May we be so blessed in just 3 weeks!

Look for me. I'll be the one with the dive flag pedicure (see profile photo, yes those are all mine overlooking Buddy's Reef!) And perhaps you'll be the one checking out everyone's feet!

Good News!

AJ was pretty much on schedule from Atlanta to Bonaire both Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of May.

Way to go AJ!

Hope AJ keeps up the good work for all of us. As for me, July is getting closer and closer...
