Can anyone advise which local airlines travel from Bonaire to Caracas - I have relatives living and working in Caracas and plan to visit them before flying home to the UK.

Did it last year from Aruba using Avior, but nor sure that they fly to Bonaire - any advice welcome

My friend who is Venezuelan took Jasta Travel (200.00 USD) from BON to Valencia to Caracas. She said in Valencia they had to clear customs and then proceeded to Caracas. She also has taken Aeropostal via Curacao.

Thanks Ann, but I think you've probably confirmed what believe to be the case - nobody flies direct. Crazy really given that its so close, but I have been really amazed at how few island you can get to direct from Venezuela.

Hey, but maybe someone will come up with a direct route - I live in hope?

Well if you read this week's Bonaire Reporter you will see there are oodles of new airlines cropping up..whatever happened to the BWIA plan?? I will wait until I see any of them touching down on the tarmac. You can take the fruit boat non stop but it's 15 hours..haaaa...

I know that there is a new airline called Transaven that flies to and from Venezuela. Check with Jasta Travel. They can probably help.

Aero Postal flies direct into Caracas from Curacao.
BWIA flies into Curacao from Trinidad and then unto Sto. Domingo twice a week.
SLM (Surinam Airlines) flies from MIami into Curacao unto Trinidad and into Caracas - It is a long flight.
Best shot - Divi Divi Charter into Curacao from Bonaire then transfer to Aero Postal into Caracas - Going to Valencia requires travel by road into Caracas a few hours depending on which route is used.

Davidson,

There is a new airline that flies from Bonaire to Valencia and then flies onward to Caracas. It is operated by Jasta Travel located at the Flamingo Airport.

Any reliable way of commuting by boat to Curacao?

Avensa and Avianca service Columbia - I know that they fly into Bogota and Medellin and from there a small craft can be taken to Cartagena unless you go through Venezuela where they have direct flights into cartagena -

There are no scheduled trips by boat between the islands - unless you charter a yacht or fishing boat - A normal boat trip to Bonaire can take any where from 1 1/2 to 5 hrs depending on the type of boat.
