Is there any way to avoid sitting in San Juan all day?

Looking at Cheaptickets.com if you can get to Chicago and leave on the 6:15am flight you can be in Bonaire by 2:30pm that is Saturday Oct.29th. You have to see where you can get an Air Jamaica flight close to you. Total traveling time from Chicago is a little over 6 hours

Frankly, I'd rather sit in San Juan (or tour around) all day than having an overnight layover. It always takes us two days to get to Bonaire but ONLY 19 hours to return home. And worth every inconvenience!!

Yes, I agree, I would rather wait in San Juan, then pay for a hotel in Chicago on the way there and then on the way back, because the plane doesn't arrive from Jamaica until 11 p.m., having to pay for another hotel before driving home. Besides during your wait in San Juan you can take a cab to Cape Verde (just 10 minutes from the airport), go to Waterclub Hotel, have lunch, and rent a beach chair for $4 and be on a marvelous beach!

If you can get from St. Louis to Louisville ,KY you can fly to Ft.Lauderdale, then Montego Bay all on Delta. However,it is an early flight outta Louisville(6:45AM)arrive in Bonaire about 2:20 PM. A coupla 1 hour layovers along the way.

That's not too bad, Dennis....just a couple of extra stops compared to Newark to MB to Bonaire but the departure time and arrival times are the same (unless there is a daylight savings time or Eastern /Central time difference between St. Louis and Newark, NJ....). It does seem "do-able" tho. I always thought one would have to fly to Chicago and then see if AJ can get you into another one of their stops and onto MB, etc. Yours sounds nicer, tho. Carole
