Had reservations to go from San Juan to Bonaire on AA, American Eagle flight for Dec 27th but was just now notified by AA that they have cancelled this route--anyone out there have any idea what is going on with the airlines going into Bonaire. Still have tickets for AA into San Juan but cannot get anything going to Bonaire anyone have any ideas. Thanks, Tim

They don't fly to Bonaire on Mondays any more. They fly in on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and depart Bonaire on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

There IS space on the SJU-CUR flight that day. Maybe Divi Divi can get you to BON from there.
Good LuckMickey

Divi Divi won't connect after dark - 5:30pm is usually their last flight of the day to Bonaire, and that's well before the SJU-CUR AA flight gets in. However, as a frequent user of the AA Miami/Curacao connection I will attest to the fact that it does connect with Divi Divi rather well. Divi Divi is about $80 round trip Curacao/Bonaire.

Tim -

Sorry to hear about your problems. When AA changed our tickets, the didn't tell us either. When contacted, AA claimed that was impossible, they ALWAYS contact the customer. We even booked directly through AA.com and never heard a peep about the change.

Here's what they did for us:
1) AA put us on the SJU-CUR flight which left SJU around 6:00pm, arrived CUR at 7:55pm
2) We then ticketed our own flight on Bonaire Excel (BE) for a 10:00pm departure. The fare was about $50 one way. AA cannot ticket this for you since they do not have a ticketing agreement with BE. But, since BE is partnered with KLM, and KLM is partnered with Northwest and Continental, you should be able to ticket it with one of them. We used Continental and it worked fine.
3) AA agreed to give us a travel voucher for the cost of the BE flight ($50). This took some bickering on the phone with the agent so you decide if it's worth it to you.
4) Our return flight from BON to SJU was on a Sunday and therefore unchanged.

We just returned late last night from a week of great diving. Hopefully you can still get there for your trip and this will just be a distant memory.

Mark
