Got this in my email today from Bonaire EZ news. Anyone have confirmation ??

QUOTE:::

American Airlines/American Eagle Flight to Depart Later from Bonaire
Effective May 1, 2004 the AmericanAirlines/American Eagle Flight #5371 from Bonaire to San Juan, which currently departs at 6:00 a.m., will now depart at 8:00 a.m., allowing travelers an extra hour of sleep. American Airlines/American Eagle offers four flights a week from the U.S. to Bonaire via San Juan, Puerto Rico. For more information call 1-800-433-7300 or visit http://www.aa.com

Looks like a bit more time to sleep in and pack, but it's gonna make the connection in SJU really close (<40 min)

EZ NEws just posted a correction:
The American Airlines/American Eagle Flight #5371 from Bonaire to San Juan, currently departs at 7:00am; effective May 1, 2004 it will depart at 8:00am.

I checked on aa.com and the summer flight still show leaving Bon at 6am. Usually schedule changes are made on Sunday with the travel agents getting them Monday. Anybody that might be worried about their connections should check things out Monday to see if any of the connecting flights have been shifted too.

If you miss your connection, make AA pay for an overnight in the San Juan area and do a days worth of sightseeing in Old San Juan. $.25 each way for a bus ride from/to Isla Verde/Condado into Old San Juan and free trolley rides around Old San Juan including out to El Morro and one of the old cemeteries. It takes a few minutes to figure out the bus routes, but the people are as nice as the ones on Bonaire and are usually glad to help. My sister and I spent days wandering around the greater San Juan area using the buses and trolleys last May and June.

AA Confirmed the sched change today. Flt #5371 now leaves BON at 0800 into SJU at 1005 hrs.

Flt #1550 SJU to MIA (was 1039hrs depart SJU)looks to have been cancelled, and replaced with #1350 now departing at 1312 hrs.

All in all, not a bad change. My connection in MIA is late enough that I'm still there in plenty of time.

Best of all, because this was a change >2 hrs, AA has let me re-book my MIA - SJU leg onto a flight with 90% on time performance from one with 60% on time performance....at no additional cost to myself.

Many people warned me about schedule changes, lucky for me that I can balance the AA changes and the Air Canada changes without incurring a cost (yet).

This trip had better be worth the fuss !!

Ciao,
Craigster
