Could someone remind me of the sked from CUR and the price please? I have a client who will be flying into CUR. Also, is there a sked online? THNX!

It took a while searching my desk but I finally found it.

Flamingo Fast Ferries
Leaves Bonaire Town pier at 6:30am and 3:30pm
about 1.5 hours
Leaves Curacao (Punda) at 8:30am and 5:30pm
about 1.75 hours

Bonaire tel. 717-7001, fax 717-7002
Curacao tel. 461-7002, fax 465-7002

The info I have from TCB says that tickets in Curacao can be purchased at Handelskade in front of the Governor's Palace (I don't know where this is myself).
In Bonaire, you can get them at their office near the Customs Pier, or at Bonaire Travel.

ticket price roundtrip nafl 95,00, oneway 65,00

They have special prices for children, teens, students, senior citizens over 60, handicapped, and groups. Babies under 1 are free with their parents.

Ann, A bit of advice for your client: Take anti-nausa medication in advance. You're going to need it. When I took the ferry, it was a "wild ride", to put it nicely. Linda M

I also heard you have to buy your ticket in advanced.

Yes, you need to buy them the day before. Kay, you saw us just after we got off the ferry. Dale was looking and feeling mighty "green", or we would've stayed to chat before your dive.

Forget it Linda! I get sick from those pills worse. I am actually checking for a client but I had also thought if there was no wind I might go for a day trip. I get SO motion sick..heck, once in a windsurf race I got seasick sailing in an 8 mile downwinder!
:(

Hmm..is it like the island ferries (Nantucker/Marthas Vineyard) here on Cape Cod? I can handle those..why so rough..

YIKES

Annie,

There is always wind between Bonaire and Curacao, even if never enough for a crazy windsurfer!! The waves build from the fetch (the distance) to the Windward Islands that the wind has to work with: nothing like Nantucket Sound, let alone teeny, tiny Vineyard Sound. And, while a catamaran is less tippy than a monohull, the Curacao ferry is much smaller than the Authority ships. And it goes faster, so the motion is different. Could be fun, or upsetting!!!

The Ferry gives out motion sickness pills. It is really doing quite well and has even had to add an extra round trip on busy days! After my day long experience at the airports yesterday, I am tempted to try the ferry service.

I can't wait to hop on board and go for a wild ride, myself! I can only hope my "other half" is as psyched as I am to check out another new adventure! Carole
