This may be a repeat, I'm in a hurry to get to work after being on the phone with my travel agent for two hours -- We were booked on AA from SFO to Miami, Miami to Curacao, then ALM from Curacao to Bonaire (Dec. 20-21). Thank goodness AA contacted us about a change to their schedule, because their agent then infomed me that ALM no longer flew that route. ALM never contacted me!!! Luckily Orbitz had ticketed the whole trip through AA, so they rerouted us through San Juan, flying AA all the way. We would have gotten to the airport in Curacao and been stuck, TSOL!!!

I would like to add that this morning I talked with my travel agent who is extremely knoweledgable and she stated that the future of Air ALM is shaky at best. The same can probably be said about DCE (Dutch Carribean Express) although I cannot confirm this. What I do not understand is why is the management of ALM so weak as to let these problems get so bad? Obviously finances are poor and this can cascade down a company but these problems have been going on for years.

Reason in a few words: Government run/owned fraught with patronage and mismanagement.
