We have a six hour layover in Miami coming back. Has anyone ever used the rooftop pool area ? Is is nice ? Can you spend the afternoon there ? Any other suggestions would be helpful.

I've never used it before, but a friend of mine did, and thought it was great. I think it cost around $5.00 or so.

Haven't used the pool, but sitting around it and having food and drinks has been enjoyable.

Very nice way to spend a layover in the Miami airport!

I go up there any time I have a significant layover but only to watch the planes. There is a decent view of both runways.

I have used the pool and even gotten a hotel room.....ask for a room for just the day. Great way to spend a few hours.

It's certainly a lot nicer than spending several hours in the San Juan American Eagle corral. We wandered up to it a few years back - I think this was just before the AA service started. Our simple hour-or-so layover had turned into a frustrated afternoon, courtesy of ALM. After interrogating ALM's terminal manager to finally get real information about the altered schedule, we looked for a place to de-stress.

We had been there for about an hour and a half on a pretty busy day, just past lunch time, when a hotel employee came up and asked us to pay if we were going to stay any longer. We hadn't actually spotted any signs about this, so we just left... it was near the time we expected to go back into the airport anyway.

Does anyone have more recent info on the present policies or practices at the pool?
