Hi, I'm a list lurker and new poster. We will be in Bonaire July 30 to August 13. We will be staying at Lagoen Hill until the 9th and then at Divi.

This will be our third trip to Bonaire. Would be interested in any information on Lagoen Hills, since we have never stayed there before.

My 15 year old son and I are divers, wife enjoys the pool and beach.

Where is Gibi's? I don't recall seeing it on previous visits.

Jeff, we were going to stay at Lagoen, I checked out everything I could find and it sounds great. I think you will enjoy it there. Send in the name of your wife and son so Cynde can add them to the list. It will be so nice to know so many names before we even arrive! Faces would be even better....(I am planning to post a photo of the 3 of us on my profile. I don't see any reason to be concerned about security - am I wrong?) Anyhow Jeff, there will be a family with 2 teens staying near us and we plan to bring them together as much as feasible. You are welcome to participate! I should start another string calling for families with teens during our stay. Hmmmm.

the first week (July 25 till Aug 1) there will be 28 of us. The second week it drops down to I think 18 (July 25 till Aug 8) and only 5 or 6 staying for the third week (July 25 till Aug 15). Hope to see you in BONAIRE and maybe at the 6:00pm Tues. meeting for BT talkers. The number in our group might change somewhat but it is in the ball park.

We are a college group from Fullerton California that goes on a summer trip every year.

"Gibi's is located across the street from Nadia snack and China Nobo. From the corner of Kaya Industria and the airport road, turn east (away from Kralendijk and the harbor) at Lisa Gas which takes you past Consales and Bonaire Warehouse. At the next intersection (stop sign) go straight across (crossing over Nikiboko Zuid). China Nobo/Nadia is on your right, Gibi's on your left - says "San Miguel" in large letters on the side of the building."
Or, from Divi, go straight in-land on Kaya Industria, straight through (STOP SIGN) the intersection by Lisa Gas and on past Consales, Warehouse, and Nikiboko Zuid (STOP SIGN).

Yes, our 9 year old (girl) will be there. We want to sign her from Aug 3... but Caren said she doesn't have anyone signed up until Aug 8th. So we have to wait. I'll check in with her when we arrive to see if any last minutes signed up.

Rob, thank you. Have a FABULOUS TIME! Kelly and I did 2 dives off the new dock at Sand Dollar. It is fabulous! We even saw a hawksbill turtle on one of the dives! Bari reef is still my favorite I think (next to small wall). The variety and abundance of life is just amazing. Have a great time, and I look forward to a trip report.

Since you are from the left coast, I am beginning to put together something for Labor Day...Check back with the board when you return. I am looking at a dive with the Bottom Scratcher (I love Cap Gret) on Sept 6th, and maybe a BBQ on the 7th, especially if Kelly makes it into town for her first kelp dive!

I miss them...Grendel, Mandy and Blijke They definitely know when you bring cookies...Grendel always had to have 2 to Blijke's 1...and Mandy is such a sweetie...When we would come back to the house we would yell "hello girls, were home" and they were there to greet us with a nice slobber!
