I am trying out a web cam to use when I come long term to Bonaire. This will enable us to stay in touch with Gramma and friends.

Are any of you Microsoft whiz's?? If so:

When doing video chat through MSN Messenger, what ports have to be opened through your firewall to get things to work?

Web uses port 80. Telnet uses port 23. FTP uses port 21. Etc.

Thanks...Getting ready for July 5th

Annie,

Try posting on www.craigslist.org, under the computer forum. When posting make sure state your OS (win98, nt, xp, etc.), camera maker, etc...

There are several sharp desktop/server people who are regulars.

Good Luck,
Annie

Annie, are congratulations in order? Just received this in the Bonaire EZ news:

"New Travel Agency in Bonaire
Ann Phelan, the owner of the travel agency Caribbean Wind & Sun Vacations, is relocating her office to Bonaire in July 2003. Aimed at better servicing her clientele and providing professional yet personalized service, Ann's specialty will continue to be windsurf vacations and event and meeting planning (conferences, incentive groups and weddings). A travel agent specializing in the Caribbean since 1988 and an avid windsurfer, Ann was a member of the committee that led the way in bringing the King of the Caribbean windsurfing event to Bonaire. The Bonaire King of the Caribbean, which was also the PWA World Freestyle Finals, was hosted by Bonaire in December 2002. Annie, all Joe and I think about is living on Bonaire someday...giving up the grind up here in NJ and moving down there. It's our dream. Don't know if it will ever happen, but we certainly would like to make the move. We are hoping the Waste Water TReatment Plant Facility plans get moving along on Bonaire and that somehow we can get Joe hooked up with a job...he is a Waste Water Treatment Operator here in New Jersey. He has the expertise...just need to be able to find the job down there. Good luck to you and Mags!! We won't see you this trip, but next time around we will, for sure! CArole
