Hi there...I'm off to Bonaire this Saturday. I checked the weather and it says there are thunderstorms there till Saturday of next week? Is it really raining there a lot or are the showers brief? Thanks!!!!

Are you sure you're checking Bonaire? Thunderstorms are rare at any time-none now, today was breezy & sunny, as usual. Showers, if any, are very brief-I think our annual rainfall is about 22". Even if it is raining somewhere, you can just drive out of it to a part of the island where it's not raining. Rather "Camelot" like.

We did have a little thunder on Tuesday morning. It was raining when I got up at 6:20am. It rained for about an hour and I heard thunder once far away. Raining for that long is very unusual.

Jennifer,

A more accurate site to check is:
http://www.weatherunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IHATO1

That's the weather station on my house, with updates every few minutes. Weather Underground has historical information back to January of this year. You'll see very little rainfall if you generate the graphs of the historical information.

Jake
