Perhaps one too many dive boats rocking........ Or something like that! One minute I was watching dive boats and, well you don't want to know the rest. Except, being unsteady, I tripped over the uneven hurdles I keep in the house. Okay, two dogs, different siZes, under Mommy's feet. Strained and bruised ligaments in the ankle. Two dogs goin' "Hey, dja like mum's new trick?" Anyway, todays the first time I looked at the boards, and there you all were. What a lovely surprise. I don't know how long I'll be able to be around, a little more each day, I hope.Niki, bright spirit Thanks for the good wishes. Have to blame me and not Webster, tho. I just didn't have what it took to clean the letter box. Ellen, mi dushi amiga Don't worry. But thanks for caring.Kris and you, too,Terry Thanks for the rose and the healing thoughts. I'll take all of those you have for me.Maybe aimed at my right ankle and ligaments and (ahem) my chest. T. did you get the pics ok? I know you'd like the diving. I'll Probably still take it easy today, much as I can. And peek in a bit. But you've already got me feeling practically in the PINK Missed you all. Owe you so much for your kindness. And last but not least: TO DOMENICA..I'm sorry it didn't work out. Next time we will get together, I hope.

Thank you, Professor. Everybody likes to feel a part of something good. Since I'm still not quite up to original thought, however, I'm going to steal an idea from Alan in Web Cams: I'm going to give you amystery maybe. Tofind, and to figure out if there's another mystery involved. Wanna play? On the Web Cam Thread for Fri. 13th called Fri.P.M, I think. Just before I got sick. On Sat.14th, Bill Sweeney posted a link to a pic of Bonaire from space. The next day, Jake Photoshopped and rotated the pic. But the mysterious thing is there in both pics. Just clearer in Jakes. Don't know how to link it so, I'll try to pull it up if you guys can't. The mystery is toward theNorth end of Bonaire. It's a physical feature, or maybe more than 1. HINT: Erich von Danekin would make a book of it. 2:HINT Allegedly you can see similar mysteries looking down on the Nazca Plain.. ( the Peruvian Andes).Tell me if you see what I see. And what the tie-in would be.:)

Kerrie Mango, Glad you're back. I don't see any weird land features. If you mean the white streak in the sky over the water... Maybe a line of flamingos... Nah.

Almost caught up to you, Niki. The curiousity is on the island. (If it's there at all) And it's represents something important about the island..if it's there. I hate to keep saying 'if', but you and Kris have pretty sharp eyes...Hint in a way it would tell about something intrinsic to Bonaire...Kris You and I must both be concentrating on my ankle..it looked a bit like and ankle and foot to me too. But oddly, that might be a lead..of sorts.....like Niki, look \b {on} the island.....away from Lac Bai

Okay, here it goes Kerri.

I think what you might see is Seru Grande. It's in the National Park, but.....

Could it be a geogpyh from the Andes? Well, I certainly think it could.

One would say, well, how the heck can you make a statement like that, Barry?

There is documented evidence on the island that Bonaire orginated (above water) from an area called - the Peruvian Andes. Now, with the mysterious animal geogpyhs from that region, I couldn't discount the 'possiblity' on Bonaire. They just could be flamingoes.

What an outstanding discovery if it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What great eyes you have, Kerri - ha, said the big bad wolf.

Kerri,

Seru (Ceru) Grandi, as mentioned earlier is a coral formation unique in Bonaire. It's in the Northeast corner and consists of three terraces on appear to be on top of each other.

Bonaire is made up of three terraces that were formed 1 million years, 340 to 520 thousand years and 125 thousand years ago. Ceru Grandi is all three terraces appearing to be on top of each other, with the oldest on top. The formaiton was formed during the glacial periods.

The part where we drive by (yellow route) is an old lagoon from 125 thousand years ago. You can se the lagoon solution notch at the base of the middle terrace.

One of the neatest things is a huge stalagtite (now a column) that connects the 1 million year old section to the half million old section.

When you drive along the road, Ceru Grandi is on your left and the sea with pounding waves against the rough shoreline on your right. It takes you back to a prehistoric times. I often expected a dinosaur to peek out over the top and watch us as we passed. On a rainy day, it is much more effective.

As you start to pass the 'cliffs', look at all the Melocactus growing along the sides. When they are flowering, it is such a beautiful sight.

Next time you pass, stop. Get out, walk up to the cliffs and think about the age, the formations and the wonderment of it all. You can actually see some coral formations if you look carefully and in the right places. These are not fossils, for they are part of the structure.

Above water, Ceru Grandi is one of many of my favorite places.

Barry. Clever fella. I'll look at a map of Bonaire and see if I can place it better...but a geoglyph is what I think I see. Although it looks a bit like an ostrich more than a flamingo. It's to the right of Niki's white dot. The head and body. The legs look like they might be canals or inlets from the sea in any case. I saw von Danekins pics, but didn't think the glyphs had been left by 'space aliens'. If he hadn't played with them. It was 60's and 70's, who knew what he was smoking? But this looked similar. So the mystery is, Did the Caiquetio/Inca do it? And if so, howtheh*ll? How big? Some combination of natural features and man's help? How nifty is this? Letters from the
Ages!! Lists of fish. Glyph of a flamingo. How nifty is that!!!! Congratulations, Wise Man.

Kerri, Being that it's Bonaire and my love for that island, I kinda see a very fat flamingo, but ostrich it could be.....:)

Barry: To tell the truth, I thought it was a Flamingo, too. You can't hold an artist too tightly when He's (or he's) working in hectares. That's what got my attention. That maybe the Caiquetio were part of whoever it was who made the pictures on the Nazca Plain. It fit with your glyphs of fish notes and with the Flamingo population. Maybe they were leaving another message. Anyway, it was exciting to think so. It would be a wonderful discovery!!! Especially for the Bonairean people. Not sure I'm looking at the right place, tho'. It's past Rincon, inside the park, but from the map it's Goto Meer I think I'm looking at.At least for the body. Maybe an extension, or different water body for the head. Legs shaped correctly reaching to the sea. And it looks maybe like a river, or some other feature, could be a dry bed, going from about the neck area to Playa Chikitu on the other side? It was a rough map, but I think that's what I read.....

Kerri, I will have to defer to your eyes and the the others, too, cuz my small laptop is not well defined enough to see any great detail.

Maybe Jake can blow up the Northern end of Bonaire - the map, Jake, the map - and we might be able to see even better.

I think, though, it's most likely His/Her work with the landscaping more so than the artwork. That whole area is hilly (looks like mountains, but not really, just hills - no plains).

Plus there is a whole lot of vegetation that covers that area. The only barren area is up at Ceru Grandi and surrounding area. So, spotting such a feature is most likely hard to spot under that vegetation - not to say it isn't, but....

Sorry to burst the bubble. But it was exciting for a day or two, yeah?

Hmmm. It was. But I didn't start out looking for a glyph, remember. I was looking at the space view that was posted. Doesn't seem quite the same shape on the other maps I can see, so I thought maybe something happened when Jake was playing with it...but glyph or coincidence, it's there on the original post by Bill Sweeney, too. But upside down.:)

Ohmygosh, I take some time away from the board and missed my almostsis's illness and not-so-fun trip! I am so sorry, Kerri - I should have listened to those little voices telling me you weren't up to par. Good grief, girl - are you feeling more like yourself? I hope those ladies at least gave you kisses while you were down, and not the kind they give you when you have cookie crumbs on your lips! I'm sending hugs your way, telepathically, did you get them? Wait, they'll be there - Toronto is a long way from Wyoming, ya know. Almost done with carpet and vinyl in the new house, so I'll be able to pay closer attention. Be careful out there!

Hi,sisoftheheart. I hope I'm feeling like more like me, cause I'd hate to think there were 2 people who felt this way. Okay, truthfully, better except for the ankle which objects most painfully if I get vertical. Not being a Flamingo, I find it hard to keep 1 foot elevated while standing. I'm thinking of moving in with you. All that nice clean air...while Toronto is in a record-breaking number of heat/humidity/pollution alerts. Tell Travis his "Auntie Mame", is coming for a visit. I could supervise while you guys work....I bet we could put a little more 'wild' in the 'wild west'! The 'ladies' deny all reponsibility for my 'trip'. They claim they were just doin' their dog act, when this big pink thing landed much too close for comfort, giving their delicate natures a terrible shock. With no St. Bernard around to give them a tot of brandy, they're considering a law suit, I believe. They're pretty bold since China won the Olympics.......They think they're taking over from Juan Antonio Samoyed. I told them it was "Samaranche", but they just barked with laughter....As to kisses...they said they did...but I think it might have been a 'taste' test....

Kerri, we surely missed your wild writings!! I get my visual imagination sparked every time you speak...

Hmm... falling down in one's home..... Read this:

Hazel, too, I've been thinking of you, because I just prepped and painted the bathroom all by myself the last few days. The ceiling just about killed me. In fact I almost became a home injury statistic by falling and planting one foot in the toilet and whacking the other leg on the outside of the bowl. My shin sprouted an egg-sized lump within seconds, while I was busy wiping up paint and thanking my guardian angel for not breaking my neck. Hope your home renovations have been safe and harmless!!

Kerri, You better be planning that next trip to BON via CAN 3000 and rooting around for the passport! Those short day-trips are so unfullfilling!

Niki - Do we need to attach a belay line to your belt loop???

Hazel - After days of installing insulation, spreading mulch and painting window casings.....I'm convinced I want to live in a tent like the Bedoins! And I could sew sequins on it if I felt so inclined!

Keep your feet on terra firma!
