Does anyone know if there are laundry facilities on bonaire? I don't want to pack a ton of stuff....thanks!

Many of the hotels and resorts offer laundry service. Lazy folks that we are, we have our laundry done at Caribbean Laundry near the stadium which is just south and east of downtown. They offer full serve wash, dry & fold (same day for a small premium or two day otherwise), as well as self-serve machines. Not cheap, but very convenient either way.

We usually go down for not less then 10 days at a time. We stay at our house which doesn't have a washer or dryer. We also use Carib Laundry, their drop off service. They charge by the kilo. The last time we were there was for 3 wks. I dropped of 2wks worth of towels, linens and personal items to be washed (we like to travel very light too!) The total was 42,00 fls (guilder), or about $25.00 US. We dropped it off in the morning one day and it was ready the next just before noon. They do an EXCELLENT job, everything that is white is VERY white and the clothes always smell great when they come back. The only thing you will have to do is to mark a tag with your name in each piece of clothing, so you get back what is yours. We do this so that we can enjoy our time in Bonaire and not slave over laundry...we are on vacation for Christmas Sake! Enjoy!

liz, should we supply the tags to mark the clothes or do they give then to you at the laundry?

Hi Pat!

We have already marked the content tags on the towels and linens with "13" so you don't have to worry about them. If you send your own clothes, I highly suggest that you write "13" on your content labels with a permanent black marker. When you fill out the ticket you also tell them Lighthouse Beach #13 and they wil know. We have never had a problem, so that is good. Take care!
