Can anyone tell me the best type of bird identification book to get and also for fish identification? We don't want anything complicated or expensive. Thanks.

There are a number of fish id cards available on the island at the dive shops that should be sufficient for most of the fish. Check out your local public library for bird and fish books. If they don't have any Carribean id books they may be able to get them for you from another library that they have 'swap' agreements with. The bird and fish books that cover the general southern Carribean have 95% of the critters that you will find on Bonaire. For the rest, the locals will be happy to id for you. If you have bird book(s) for the US take them with you as many of the birds on Bonaire are also found in North America. The Bonaire Nature and Nature Organizations have threads with pictures of many of the island birds.
