Hi all-we're headed to Bonaire this Wed. :))))

Weather.com has quite a few showers and t-storms coming through the next week or so. Is this what you're experiencing, and if so-I assume (and hope) they're the short term shots of water we're familiar with on the island?

Can't wait to get there, regardless!

Mary - I forecast weather about as well as Tiger Woods throws TD passes, so take this only with the usual investment warning "Past performance is not a guarantee of future growth." We did, however, just (Friday) return from a stay on Bonaire that was all too short. There had been a good bit of rain the week before we arrived (that being the last week in Oct), but our stay saw only some heavy late night rain (evidence of which, aside from puddles, was virtually completely gone by sunrise) and a few of the usual brief, passing showers. For those looking for relaxation, rain doesn't really "dampen spirits" on Bonaire. Keep your fingers crossed, however, as Nov and Dec are the "rainiest" months according to the statisticians. Still, under the worst conditions you'll probably see as much sun as you could want.

On another note, for those who haven't been to Bonaire for a while, this was our first trip in 3 years (our tenth, total)...we were last on Bonaire three days before Lenny hit. I'm sure that part of the reason we were reluctant to return was fear of what we might find underwater. From most perspectives, the fear seems unfounded...at least from the sites we dove from Atlantis in the south to Karpata in the north. Three times, however, we set out for Nukove and Playa Funchi but just chickened out for fear of what we would find (with this fairly confirmed by local divers). All in all, however, things were in surprisingly great shape. Oh well, lets just say the 3 year hiatus made us all the more appreciative of what we found.

Still unpacking, but plan to post some further musings and ponderments in a few days.

DSAO,

Tony (& Laurel) Cooper
Philadelphia, PA
